Over this past week, my partner and I have made further progress towards the film opening that will eventually be submitted. The first step to that was the creation of our company name and a logo for that company. The name that we settled on was Mirrored Reality Productions, which has multiple meanings behind it. First of all, my partner is my identical twin, so we ourselves are mirrors of each other. Media itself, especially film, also mirrors peoples' perceptions of reality and how they view it, which adds a double meaning to the name of our company. We have also thought up the concept for our logo, which will involve an actual mirror, as well as some reality-warping imagery, though the exact design has not been created yet, though should be completed by Monday at the earliest. Overall, the start to our long project has been off to a smooth start, and these next couple of weeks should see a large amount of progress being complete, particularly in the planning stages.
We have also started work on another assignment, a practice short film clip that has us utilize certain techniques and shots. It requires that we use the match on match technique, the 180 degree rule, the shot reverse shot technique, and the eyeline match strategy. I have researched all of these techniques and, along with my partner, are in the process of developing a script for this clip. After we complete the script, we will begin filming, and that shall be our first attempt at filming. This should hopefully give us an insight into how we will film our final film opening, and serve as something we can reflect upon once we have gotten better.
